Fire Prevention Week is observed each year during the week of Oct. 9 in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme was “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-ion Batteries in Your Home”, serving as a reminder that fires can start from something as small as a battery.
