Edwin Argueta-Hernandez, 436th Security Forces Squadron military working dog trainer, places a tin of narcotics into a Narcotics Printed Protection Enclosure (NPPE) at Dover Air Force Base, Oct. 15, 2025. The NPPE has been in development for a little over a year and was designed by the Joint Military Working Dog Laboratory within the Forensic Toxicology department of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System on Dover AFB. These casings were developed to not only offer greater protection but to expand training possibilities for MWD handlers. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Noah D. Coger)
