Pete Hegseth, U.S. Secretary of War, reenlists Sailors in the hangar bay of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) during a presidential visit while moored pierside on Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Oct. 28, 2025. During his visit, Hegseth met with U.S. and Japanese leaders, administered a reenlistment oath for Sailors, and delivered remarks prior to President Donald J. Trump’s address.
