    A simulated mine is placed in support of Technical Concept Experiment 25.2 with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory at Red Beach on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Sept. 11, 2025. TCE 25.2, sponsored by Dr. Joong Kim at the Office of Naval Research, is a two-week data collection event and concept experiment that integrates unmanned systems, machine-learning based analytics and artificial intelligence-supported technologies in controlled minefield scenarios to gather data on mine and improvised explosive device detection, neutralization, marking and reporting.
