Carmine Masiello speaks Office of Army Cemeteries and Army National Military Cemeteries Executive Director Karen Durham-Aguilera by the gravesites of Italian Army service members Mario Batista and Cpl. Arcangelo Prudenza in Section 15-C of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025. Batista and Prudenza were a member of the Italian Army who became a prisoner of war in America during World War II. After they passed, America (following the Geneva Convention) provided them with honorable burials at ANC (the nearest military cemetery).
