U.S. Marines Corps Sgt. Aaron Acevado, a canvassing recruiter with Recruiting Sub-Station Fresno, Recruiting Station Sacramento, demonstrates the ammo can lift portion of the modified combat fitness test at Firebaugh High School in Firebaugh, California, Sept. 23, 2025. The CFT evaluates a Marine's combat readiness with three components: an 880-yard Movement to Contact sprint, a 2-minute Ammunition Can Lift of a 30-pound can overhead, and a timed Maneuver Under Fire course with obstacles including low crawls, sprints, and a simulated grenade toss. This test was modified to uphold the integrity and safety of Marine Corps standards and the individuals who partook while on the high school campus. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt.
