FORT POLK, La. — Sgt. 1st Class Sharlene John, Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital medical laboratory NCOIC, crosses the finish with her dog Maple Mocha during the second annual Pawsitive Steps Dog Walk at Warrior Hills Golf Course, Sept. 20, 2025. John joked that while the event wasn’t a competition, she and Maple Mocha were proud to be the first to finish. The event was held in recognition of Suicide Prevention Month and National Service Dog Month.
