Fort Lee Garrison Commander Col. Rich Bendelewski, right, speaks with Linda Chauvin Thursday Sept. 18, 2025, after the annual Fort Lee POW/MIA Recognition Day luncheon at the Gregg-Adams Club. Chauvin is the daughter of World War II Airman 2nd Lt. Eugene Shauvin. Shauvin was an Army Air Corps Pathfinder troop carrier pilot, who was killed on September 17, 1944, while flying one of six lead planes in Operation Market Garden. His remains were recovered in 2022.
