U.S. Soldiers assigned to 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Task Force Iron review a map before Iron Defender-25 at Orzysz Training Area in Orzysz, Poland, Sept. 17, 2025. Approximately 30,000 service members and 600 pieces of military equipment from Poland and allied nations participated in the exercise, which focused on enhancing combined arms interoperability. The purpose of Iron Defender-25 is to prove the Polish Armed Forces and their NATO allies’ readiness and ability to conduct defensive operations in a multi-domain environment.
