A U.S. Marine with Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 171, Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 12, 1st Marine Air Wing (MAW), explains how to operate a LVSR MKR16 Tractor to U.S. Soldiers with 5-3 Long Range Firing Battalion, 3rd Multi-Domain Task Force (3MDTF), at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, August 29, 2025. This training was conducted to familiarize both units with the unique equipment each force utilizes, providing mutual understanding and enhancing cohesion between the Marine and Army units for future joint operational effectiveness, in preparation for Resolute Dragon 25. Resolute Dragon 25 is an annual bilateral exercise across Japan, including the Southwest Islands, that strengthens the command, control and multi-domain maneuver capabilities of III MEF and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force’s Western Army personnel with a focus on controlling and defending key maritime terrain.
