An Air Commando assigned to the 27th Special Operations Wing checks a hose during a forward arming and refueling point (FARP) operation supporting ARCTIC EDGE 2025 (AE25) at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 8, 2025. FARP plays a crucial role in the U.S. military’s ability to deliver airpower effectively and efficiently anywhere in the world by providing a mobile refueling point at any place an aircraft can land. Air Commandos integrated with U.S. Marines with the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 533 to assist F-35B Lightning II jets. AE25 is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities, and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic.
