An Air Commando assigned to the 27th Special Operations Wing navigates an MC-130J Commando II to a forward location to provide fuel during a forward arming and refueling point (FARP) operation supporting ARTIC EDGE 2025 (AE25) at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 8, 2025. FARP operations with the MC-130J Commando II enable Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 533 aircraft to rapidly refuel and rearm simultaneously. AE25 is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities, and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic.
