U.S. Navy Robotics Warfare Specialist Chief Bryan Surber, a robotics warfare specialist with the Expeditionary Mine Countermeasures (ExMCM) Company 9-1, observes data collected from an unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) during exercise ARCTIC EDGE 2025 (AE25) at Anchorage, Alaska, Aug. 9, 2025. UUVs are used in mine countermeasure operations to locate, classify, and help neutralize underwater explosive threats without risking personnel.
