U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Ryan Vick, 60th Civil Engineering Squadron explosive ordnance disposal team leader assigned to the 22nd Air Task Force, tests new technology designed to train Airmen on hot pit procedures, developing them into more mission-ready Airmen during Exercise Northern Strike 25-2 at Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, Michigan, Aug. 5, 2025. This exercise enabled Airmen to collaborate with warfighters in a joint training scenario, receiving immediate feedback to optimize the use of emerging technologies. Northern Strike is a premier reserve component training event that focuses on joint readiness training to build interoperability and strengthen partnerships in an all-domain environment.
