Juan Sanchez Bulted, USACE area engineer for the Everglades Agricultural area explains how specialize equipment is used at the project to Brig. Gen. Zachary Miller, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers South Atlantic Division commander during a visit to the USACE Jacksonville District project site July 28-31, 2025. The Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) Reservoir Project is a major component of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) in Florida. It involves constructing a large reservoir and treatment area to store and clean water, primarily excess water from Lake Okeechobee, before directing it south to help restore the Everglades ecosystem and improve water quality in Florida Bay and the estuaries.
