U.S. Marines with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing; 3rd Landing Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group; and 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division place a doughnut charge during breaching training on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 12, 2025. A doughnut charge is a loop of detonation cord used to destroy locked door handles. Combat engineers with MWSS-172 and 3rd LSB conducted urban breaching training to enhance mobility, survivability, and lethality in built-up environments by practicing explosive and mechanical entry techniques.
