ATLANTIC OCEAN (Aug. 17, 2025) – Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Zamire Harris (right), from Durham, North Carolina, assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), hits an anchor chain stopper with a sledgehammer to release the anchor chain in Iwo Jima’s foc’sle during an anchoring evolution. The Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group (IWO ARG) – 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Special Operations Capable (SOC) departed Norfolk and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina after completing a comprehensive, nine-month training program.
