U.S. Sgt. Tyler Hawkins and Spc. Blake Zweng, of the 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, must clear, disassemble, assemble, and perform a function check on an M2A1 on the weapons lanes on Day Two of the Soldier, Noncommissioned Officer, and Junior Officer of the 4th Quarter competition in Baumholder, Germany, on Aug. 7, 2025. This is to verify that the bolt, trigger, and feeding mechanisms are all operating in the proper sequence, and the weapon will not fire out of battery.
