The South Carolina National Guard conducts a retirement ceremony for U.S. Army Brig. Gen. David M. Jenkins, assistant adjutant general-Army, Aug. 9, 2025, at South Carolina State University, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Jenkins was awarded the Palmetto Cross, Guardsman Retirement Medal, Certificate of Retirement from the United States Armed Forces, and various tokens of appreciation for his service. Jenkins served for more than 34 years and held several key positions in the organization, to include the 228th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade commander, chief of staff at the 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, and the state communications officer (G6).
