Lincoln Reifsteck, right, commander, Submarine Group 7, Vice Admiral Mark Hammond, AO, RAN Chief of the Royal Australian Navy, middle, and Erika Olson, U.S. Chargè d’Affaires to Australia, talk during an office call aboard the forward-deployed submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40) while the ship is on a scheduled port visit in Brisbane, Australia. Frank Cable hosted a reception for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Pacific Day, a celebration of shared U.S.-Australian history, commemorating the end of World War II in the Pacific. Frank Cable and the Ohio-class guided-missile submarine USS Ohio (SSGN 726) are in port Brisbane as part of routine operations in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet, the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, operating with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific.
