BRISBANE, Australia (July 30, 2025) – Rear Adm. Lincoln Reifsteck, commander, Submarine Group 7, greets Erika Olson, U.S. Chargè d’Affaires to Australia, as she comes aboard the forward-deployed submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40) while the ship is on a scheduled port visit in Brisbane, Australia. Frank Cable hosted a reception for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Pacific Day, a celebration of shared U.S.-Australian history, commemorating the end of World War II in the Pacific. Frank Cable and the Ohio-class guided-missile submarine USS Ohio (SSGN 726) are in port Brisbane as part of routine operations in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet, the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, operating with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific.
