HAGAT, Guam (July 19, 2025) U.S. Navy Josh Lasky, commander, Joint Task Force - Micronesia, U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Brett Mietus, commander, Joint Region Marianas, and service members render a salute during a wreath laying during Hagat Memorial ceremony, July 19. The ceremony honored the men and women of Hågat who suffered or died during the Japanese occupation and the island’s liberation in World War II. It commemorated the Fena Cave Massacre, the U.S. landing at Hågat Beach, and the 12 lost men of Hagat who were taken by the Japanese to carry ammunition and supplies to Mañenggon.
