SANTA RITA, Guam (July 19, 2025) U.S. Navy Command Master Chief Joshua B. Joiner, senior enlisted leader, Joint Region Marianas, and other service members pay tribute to those who lost their lives in Fena Cave honor with a bendision, or blessing, during the Fena Cave Massacre Memorial ceremony in Santa Rita, July 19. The memorial paid tribute to the CHamoru men and women from the villages of Hagat and Sumay who were killed with grenades and bayonets in the caves near Fena Lake. Following the Fena Cave memorial, attendees joined the Hågat Memorial ceremony, which honored the people of the village who suffered and died during the war, as well as the U.S. service members who liberated the island.
