U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Luke T. Esposito, the former executive officer for Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, stands at attention during his retirement ceremony on MCAS Miramar, California, Aug. 1, 2025. Esposito, a U.S. Naval Academy graduate, honorably served 24 years, achieving over 1,500 miles flying with the AV-8B Harrier, F-35B Lightning II and the UC-35D Citation Encore. His final four years saw him serving as the MCAS Miramar deputy operations officer, the Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron executive officer and the MCAS Miramar executive officer.
