250804-O-NJ594-1140, Portsmouth, Virginia, (Aug. 4, 2025) - In commemoration of the 78th birthday of the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps (MSC), and in keeping with Navy tradition, a ceremonial cake was cut by the youngest and most senior MSC present at the Navy and Marine Corps Force Health Protection Command (NMCFHPC), industrial hygiene officer Lt. Cmdr. Stefan Nwandu Vincent, and NMCFHPC commander Capt. Darryl Arfsten--symbolizing the passing of the experience and service across generations, Aug. 4, 2025, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia. Today, more than 3,000 Active and Reserve officers comprise the 31 MSC specialties and continue to man administrative, clinical, and scientific roles as a pillar of Navy Medicine.
