250804-O-NJ594-1139, Portsmouth, Virginia, (Aug. 4, 2025) - The Navy and Marine Corps force Health Protection Command (NMCFHPC) hosts a cake cutting ceremony in commemoration of the 78th birthday of the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps (MSC), Aug. 4, 2025, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia. Today, more than 3,000 Active and Reserve officers comprise the 31 MSC specialties and continue to man administrative, clinical, and scientific roles as a pillar of Navy Medicine. MSC officers provide direct support to Navy and Marine Corps commands, squadrons, battalions and units and deploy in support of combat operations, disaster relief, and humanitarian assistance missions, providing the best care our nation can offer ashore and afloat.
