U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Dylan Hairfield, a topographic intelligence specialist with 3rd Marine Logistics Group, uses a CEESCOPE during a small boat sustainment training event on a combat rubber raiding craft at Naval Base White Beach, Okinawa, Japan, July 28, 2025. Marines with Littoral Engineer Reconnaissance Team and 12th Littoral Logistics Battalion worked together to conduct CRRC sustainment training which included small boat maneuvers and open water safety swimming. LERT also conducted beach landing site surveys using the CEESCOPE, a device that enables precise depth measurements and underwater topography mapping. Hairfield is a native of Virginia.
