Master Gunnery Sgt. Michael R. Montoya bids farewell to Staff Sgt. Chopper IV during Chopper’s retirement ceremony April 25 at the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band Hall on Camp Foster. Chopper served as a mascot for the III MEF Band for more than 10 years. Chopper IV played an important role in community events with the band and served as a morale booster for Marines who interacted with him daily. Montoya is the bandmaster for the III MEF Band.
