Illumination rounds lit up the night sky as soldiers from the Puerto Rico National Guard’s 296th Infantry Battalion executed Table VI night mortar live-fire missions at Camp Santiago Joint Training Center on July 18, 2025.
The Table VI qualification is the culminating event in mortar training, testing crews on their ability to deliver accurate and timely indirect fire under realistic, low-visibility combat conditions.
This advanced training enhances tactical proficiency, unit coordination, and combat readiness—ensuring soldiers are fully prepared to support real-world operations, day or night.
