Sailors share in language exchange with Okinawan school children

Aviation Electrician's Mate Airman Mariah Brown, from San Diego, assigned to the "Golden Eagles" of Patrol Squadron (VP) 9, high-fives a local Okinawan student during a language exchange as part of a community relations event led by Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa (CFAO), at a school in Uruma, Japan, July 15, 2025. The event provided students with the opportunity to practice English by interacting with native speakers, while also strengthening U.S.-Japan ties through cultural exchange. CFAO maintains and operates facilities to support United Nations Command-Rear missions, coalition and allied partners, U.S. Navy ships, submarines, and aircraft, and Joint Force assets in the Indo-Pacific region.
