Maj. Gen. Joseph Ricciardi, Senior Commander of Fort McCoy, Wis., along with Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. James Riddle welcomed Gary Sinise to the installation on July 13, 2025.
Sinise led his Lt. Dan Band to highlight a concert at Fort McCoy, courtesy of the Gary Sinise Foundation and Fort McCoy’s Directorate of Morale, Welfare, and Recreation at the McCoy’s Community Center field.
Famous for his portrayal of Lt. Dan Taylor in the blockbuster film, Forrest Gump, Sinise formed the Lt. Dan Band in 2003. Since then, the band has played nearly 600 concerts for military, Veterans, Gold Star Families, and First Responders.
