Michael Dosedel, left, 11, has had to wear a fixator on his right thigh twice while the femur is being lengthened and a third bone lengthening session is upcoming. Radiation treatment for cancer kept the femur in Michael's right leg from growing. He and his mother worked together to create "fixator pants" that completely cover the fixator and keep the dust and dirt away from open wounds. These pants have been a big hit with fixator patients at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington. Michael's brother Thomas, right, 9, helps cutting out the patterns.
