A jet engine is strapped down in the cargo hold of a C-17 Globemaster III at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, Aug. 8. The jet can carry an Abrams tank, 10 up-armored Humvees, two tractor trailer trucks, or 100 paratroopers and all of their gear.
