U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt. Brian Vosper, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency explosive ordnance disposal technician, and local worker sweep an area for metal hits during a pre-deployment site survey in Vietnam, June 17, 2025. EOD sweeps are performed prior to every dig to ensure the safety of the team and to help locate possible life support evidence that may assist in the identification of missing personnel. This mission is focused on accounting for those who remain missing from the Vietnam War where there are currently 1,567 U.S. personnel who remain unaccounted-for.
