U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Tiffany Le, DPAA linguist, uses a pinpointer metal detector to find metal hits during a pre-deployment site survey in Vietnam, June 17, 2025. Life support investigators identify various parts of the aircraft and life support equipment while providing their expertise to the scientific recovery expert to assist in choosing the best path forward in the search for missing personnel. DPAA operates in 45 countries around the world in search of more than 81,000 missing Americans from past conflicts.
