U.S. Marines assigned to various units at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point volunteer as part MCAS Cherry Point’s Single Marine Program at the Veterans Employment Base Camp and Organic Gardens (VEBCOG) in New Bern, North Carolina, June 21, 2025. Since 2018, the SMP has organized many volunteer events with VEBCOG, a non-profit organization ran by veterans who aim to employ underemployed veterans, enhance their skillset and overall well-being to return more employable veterans back to the community. MCAS Cherry Point service members volunteer routinely with the non-profit organization to reinforce the installation’s enduring commitment to building a network of productive citizens in all phases of their active-duty service and post-active-duty service life.
