O’Bryant was surprised during the opening ceremony of Navy Medicine Readiness Training Command Bremerton’s 127th Hospital Corps Ball, June 21, 2025 by being presented by Capt. Karla Lepore, NMRTC Bremerton commanding officer, with the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of second award) not only for his “superior performance of his duties while serving as orthopedic technician,” but also performing “his duties in an exemplary and highly professional manner which resulted in his selection as Naval Medical Forces Pacific Fiscal Year 2024 Senior Sailor of the Year (Official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, NHB/NMRTC Bremerton public affairs officer).”
