U.S. Army 1st Sgt. James Barton, outgoing first sergeant of Headquarters Support Company (HSC), Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) passes the company guidon to Capt. LeeAnna Mitchell, commander of HSC, during HSC's change of responsibility ceremony at Caserma Del Din, Vicenza, Italy, June 12, 2025. The change of responsibility ceremony reinforces the noncommissioned officer role in the U.S. Army and highlights their support to their respective command. HSC conducts daily sustainment operations, training and support for assigned and attached personnel. They provide trained, qualified, ready, available and deployable Soldiers for SETAF-AF in support of U.S. Army Europe and Africa, as well as U.S. Africa Command campaign objectives.
