    76th Operational Response Command

The Consequence Management Unit held their change of command on June 7 in Gunpowder, Md during its battle training assembly weekend. The outgoing commander, Col. Virginia "Ginger" Shaw relinquished command to Col. Nicholas Hoyt.
CMU Soldiers and friends and family of Col. Shaw and Col. Hoyt filled the drill hall in the reserve center on Aberdeen Proving Ground-South to witness the traditional ceremony including the CMU command sergeant major, Command Sgt. Maj. Kevin Edwards and the hosting the ceremony was 76th ORC deputy commanding general, Brig. Gen. Shaun Miller, who’s also a former commander for the CMU.
"Remember to lead with integrity, train relentlessly, and continue to care deeply for one another," said Col. Shaw as she gave her closing remarks in her farewell speech. "These are all hallmark traits of the CMU, and you will thrive while the Army changes around you."
Established in 2001, the CMU provides multi-disciplined consequence management expertise for Army, joint and interagency operations and is part of the 20th CBRNE Command (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives), the U.S. military's only multifunctional formation that combats CBRNE threats around the globe.
Among its ranks, the CMU has officers and noncommissioned officers with advanced degrees, specialized training and licensing in their military and civilian professions to include medical doctors, military intelligence professionals, environmental scientists, nuclear power experts, physicists, and Chemical Corps officers.
