NORFOLK, Va. (June 16, 2025) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Fuels) Second Class Ricardo Ambrosi (left) and Damage Controlman Fireman Jordan Johnson (right), both assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), communicate to one another as part of a firefighting attack team during a Damage Control Inspection (DCI) drill in the ship’s hangar bay, June 16, 2025. DCI is used to test and inspect a ship’s damage control capabilities in order to prepare the crew for real world casualties in an industrial environment. Wasp is conducting a selected restricted availability in BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair following a seven-month deployment to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
