The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle (WIX-327) sails west down the Columbia River, escorted by multiple 47-foot motor lifeboats and an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter above, June 16, 2025. Eagle departed Astoria, Oregon with support from Station Cape Disappointment and the National Motor Lifeboat School to conclude its port call. The Eagle has served as a classroom at sea to future Coast Guard officers since 1946, offering practical seamanship skills, along with an at-sea leadership and professional development experience as part of the Coast Guard Academy.
