A 47-foot motor lifeboat from Station Cape Disappointment transits alongside the USCGC Eagle (WIX-327) near the mouth of the Columbia River, June 16, 2025. The lifeboat crews escorted Eagle as it set sail from Astoria following a multi-day visit celebrating Coast Guard heritage. The Eagle has served as a classroom at sea to future Coast Guard officers since 1946, offering practical seamanship skills, along with an at-sea leadership and professional development experience as part of the Coast Guard Academy.
