    U.S. Army Pfc. Kurtis Barney, assigned to 759th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, assigned to Joint Task Force–Southern Border, ground guides a mine-resistant, ambush protected all terrain vehicle prior to executing a detection and monitoring patrol in Yuma, Ariz., June 11, 2025. These troops conduct joint patrols with U.S. Border Patrol agents to detect suspicious activity and potential threats, enhancing situational awareness and supporting the mission to achieve operational control of the border. Under the direction of the U.S. Northern Command, Joint Task Force–Southern Border aligns efforts to seal the southern border and repel illegal activity and is responsible for full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations, which will allow for more effective and efficient DoD operations.
