250605-N-ZQ263-2019 BALTIC SEA (June 5, 2025) The German navy Barndenburg-class frigate FGS Bayern (F217), Braunshweig-class corvette FGS Magdeburg (F261), and the Braunshweig-class corvette FGS Braunshweig (F260) steam into formation in support of Baltic Operations 2025. BALTOPS 25 is the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic Region. The exercise, led by U.S. Navy Forces Europe/Africa/U.S. Sixth Fleet and command-and-controlled by Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, provides a unique training opportunity to strengthen combined response capabilities critical to preserving freedom of navigation and security in the Baltic Sea.
