Senior Airman Dylan Hughes, 30th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosives Ordnance Disposal technician, motions for an unmanned F6A Remote Ordnance Neutralization System robot’s pilot to adjust its position during an EOD training exercise held at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., May 22, 2025. Space Launch Delta 30’s 30 CES EOD technicians worked hand-in-hand with the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad, San Luis Obispo County Bomb Squad, and members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to conduct a joint training venture set to strengthening local partnerships, interservice communication for explosives safety and improve unit-wide technical expertise. This marked the first collaborative training of its kind for explosives ordnance professionals located around the Vandenberg, Santa Barbara county, and San Luis Obispo county communities.
