26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Maritime Raid Force Marines and Sailors conduct a live fire exercises with M4 Carbines and M1911 MEUSOC .45 caliber pistols aboard the USS San Antonio (LPD 17) April 11, 2013. The MEU is currently deployed as part of the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group to the 5th Fleet area of operation. The MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force.
