The San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock sp USS Somerset (LPD 25), is moored pier side during Vice Adm. Brendan McLane, commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet’s recent visit to the ship at Naval Base San Diego, May 28, 2025. While aboard the ship, Vice Adm. McLane spoke with the ship's leadership about various Sailor programs, addressed midshipmen currently embarked aboard Somerset for a midshipman cruise, recognized Sailors for their achievements with challenge coins and presented the ship’s commanding officer with a Board of Inspection and Survey top score belt.
