Airmen from the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, airmen from the U.S. Air Force Band’s Ceremonial Brass, and guardians from the U.S. Space Force Honor Guard conduct full military funeral honors with escort for U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Mark Baird in Section 55 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
Working across the U.S. Air Force, other military branch services, the Joint Staff and the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Baird supported the Director of the Space Force Planning Task Force (in conjunction with the chartered Task Force of subject matter experts) in planning the detailed activities associated with the standup of the U.S. Space Force. He served for over 30 years in the U.S. Air Force and his military awards included Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
Baird’s spouse, Beth Ann Baird, received the U.S. flag from her husband’s funeral.
