USS Essex (LHD 2) and ships sailing as part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) steam in formation in the Andaman Sea. The Essex ARG is standing by in international waters off the coast of Burma to support Joint Task Force Caring Response, a humanitarian assistance operation developed in the wake of Cyclone Nargis.
