GREAT LAKES, Illinois (May 6, 2025) Recruits and recruit division commanders assigned to recruit training division 254 of training group 30, and sponsored by Naval Station Great Lakes, take part in a commissioning ceremony held at Recruit Training Command's Midway drill hall. Recruit division sponsorship develops a special bond between recruit divisions and military or civilian organizations. Mentorship and direct contact from the sponsors enhance basic training and provide a unique learning experience for Recruits and sponsoring groups.
